Paul Millsap, Joe Johnson - NBA players who may appear on the trade scene next season (Part 5)
9. Paul Millsap
Utah Jazz made a strange move in the previous season, when they landed 20 years old power forward Derrick Favors from the New Jersey Nets in the presence of experienced Paul Millsap, who was looking after things in the same region
for his side.
The trade doesn’t make much sense, as Millsap is just 26 years old and still had a long way to go and moreover has a very good record playing at the power forward position. However, if the Jazz put him on the trade block in the
upcoming season they would definitely get more value for him than Favors.
So keeping this idea in mind the best choice for the Jazz would be to keep Millsap with them for a while until Favors gets himself settle in and then trade Paul away. This would help Utah in bringing a skilful player in another
department in which they lack strength. So if any trades takes place in the future there is great chance that Millsap will be the one leaving the place.
10. Joe Johnson
Besides, Josh Smith, the Atlanta Hawks could also possibly look at the contract of the Joe Johnson. Since the shooting guard, who can also play as a small forward failed to impress the team management and the coaching staff in
the last season.
So if the 30 year old, who also didn’t have many years left on his pact with the Hawks, gives another disappointing performance in the upcoming season, Atlanta can practice their rights to trade him away by putting him on the block.
Although, Johnson’s $119 million pact will be tricky to move, but if after Smith rest of the forwards fail to put up a decent effort then there will be a high probability that the Hawks may look to shift this complex contract.
