Paul Nicholls looking at Big Fella Thanks to win the Grand National
Champion trainer Paul Nicholls hopes are set high on BIG FELLA THANKS to win the Gran National.  Grand National is the world’s greatest race but has never been won by any of the horses trained by Paul Nicholls who is leading trainer for 2009 and 2010. Although Paul has 109 wins in 200-2010, he is still waiting for one of his horses to win the Grand National.  He has four horses in this year Grand National.

Big Fella Thanks is owned by Harry Findlay and Paul Barber and will be ridden by Ruby Walsh who sits in the fifth place as jockey for the year 2009-2010.  Although Nicholls still looking for his first Grand National win, he did come close with  Royal Auclair's who placed second in 2005.

Paul Nicholls, said: "Everyone wants to win the Grand National and it would be great for the whole team at home, it would mean a lot to them. We're really looking forward to it.
"This season has been all about the Grand National for Big Fella Thanks."

Next horse for Nicholls is the winner of the National Hunt Chase Tricky Trickster, which is owned by Chris Giles who is in the same boat as Nicholls and is looking forward to winning his first Grand National.

Tricky Trickster was dominating the ante-post betting by winning the Aon Chase but he did not do well at the Cheltenham Gold Cup.  "He was disappointing in the Gold Cup but we did not find anything wrong with him afterwards," Nicholls added of Barry Geraghty's mount. "He is a horse who keeps a bit to himself, but on his Aon form has a good chance." Cheltenham did not turn out well for Nicholls, his other top horses Kauto Star and Denman also did not win.

Paul Nicholls has more chances than any other trainer with My Will, who place third in the Grand National 2009, and Nozic, to be ridden by last year's winning jockey LiamTreadwell. In total Paul has four horses in this year Grand National, Big Fella Thanks, Tricky Trickster, My Will and Nozic.

Paul Nicholls is the leading trainer of 2009-2010, out of 484 runs he won 109 with a winning percentage of 23% and 90 of his horses placed 2nd.
