I don't know when he said that but I disagree. If he was the best player in the world, he wouldn't need Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to come to Boston to win a championship. Without them, Pierce couldn't get it done. I mean the year before, he only won 24 games for Boston. That isn't good at all for a man that says he is the best player in the world. Look at LeBron James, he got to the championship without another all-star player by him even though he didn't win the championship. Along with Kobe Byrant. Pierce couldn't even get close to the finals without help. I do got to say that he does have skill and talent. No doubt!

Do I agree that he's the best player in the world?  No, he wouldn't be my personal pick.

Do I agree with him when he said Kobe's not the best player in the world?  Yes, I agree there.  Kobe's performance in the Finals speaks for itself IMO.

One thing that I don't think can be disputed is that Pierce WAS the best player in the NBA Finals this year.  If being the best player in the biggest series of the season makes Pierce think HE's the best player in the world, he's earned the right to believe that if nothing else.

Paul pierce has never been apart of a winning team since last year. I agree he is a good player, but it was because of the great cast of players on the team that he was able to win the finals MVP and even have that chance to make that comment. Kobe is much better, as you can see from the previous years Kobe has been able to single handedly lead his team to the playoffs every year.
