Paul Robinson to help Bolton Wanderers seal a win over former side West Bromwich Albion
Bolton Wanderers defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Robinson-c29389 revealed he would be focused on helping his side to a win when he took the field against former side West Bromwich Albion today, Saturday 19th November. The 32-year-old left-back joined the Trotters on a permanent basis in the 2010 season after spending over seven years with West Bromwich Albion.
Despite the fact that he spent most of his career with West Bromwich Albion, Robinson revealed his loyalties lay with Bolton Wanderers. He joined them in the summer of 2010 for a fee of £1 million after spending a season on loan with the club.
Robinson said on the club’s official website:
“We go to West Brom on Saturday looking for back-to-back wins that could push us into mid-table.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 international was hopeful that a win over his former side would help the Trotters past the bottom of the Premier League table. After a poor start to the new season, Bolton Wanderers find themselves in the relegation zone, third from the bottom.
He revealed:
“West Brom will have had a bit of time to regroup after their game at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and they will make it tough for us. They have been up and down so far this season and, like ourselves, found it difficult playing the top teams early on in the season.
But hopefully we go there with the same mentality that we had against Stoke. It should be an entertaining game.”
However, Robinson remained hopeful on a win and all three points, which he was confident, would help his side into the safety of mid-table. Having been presented with a tough fixture list, the defender was banking on taking on easier sides and securing all the points to find a way past the bottom half of the table.
On the question of whether he was looking forward to taking on his former teammates, Robinson admitted he was in fact looking forward to seeing his ex teammates. However, that did not mean he would not try his best to try and help his side secure a win.
Robinson admitted:
“It's always nice to catch up with old friend and to see the fans who respected me during the time I was there, and respected what I did for the club.”
