Manchester United’s veteran midfielder, Paul Scholes has criticized the latest change in English Premier League’s schedule for the next league campaign as it has changed Manchester United’s opening fixture from Saturday, 18th
of August to Monday, 20th of August, 2012.
The Red Devils will play their first match of the season against Everton now at Goodison Park and this match will take place after the likes of Manchester City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have already played their respective opening fixtures.
Such a change means that United will be under extra pressure to get points against the Toffees especially if both Chelsea and Manchester City win their opening matches to the new Premier League season. Sir Alex Ferguson has not
yet made his thoughts known on the subject but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 has been pretty unrelenting in his latest remarks to the media about this latest change in schedule.
He said, “It's happened in the past sometime. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 away is a big game and it's one TV will want to televise live. It's just the way it is. It's a bit frustrating as you want to get going as fast as you can with a Saturday game
and get some points under your belt.
Scholes added, “But we'll have to wait until Monday night and hopefully we can win the game. We've only been doing two or three days so we're still a way off being ready for a game. Hopefully, in the next 10 days, we'll be ready
and raring to go.”
The Manchester United playmaker was convinced to take a reverse decision on his retirement from football by Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson in January 2012 when Manchester United were facing a shortage of players in the midfield department.
Scholes has since then hit the ground running and also signed a contract extension with the Red Devils, which will see him play till the end of the next league season.
