Manchester United midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 has revealed that he has missed playing football, way more than he had initially anticipated.
Scholes went on to retire from football at the end of the previous season, but he made a sensational return to Old Trafford in the second half of this season, as he came in to try and fill in the void left by the number of injuries that United suffered.
The thirty seven year old is now set to see out the rest of the season as a Red Devil and is set to add to the three performances that he has already made for the team.
The prolific midfielder has now revealed that he missed playing football way more than he thought he ever would and feels that his training sessions with the United reserves helped motivate him to make a comeback.
Scholes is quoted to have said: "I missed it more than I thought. At the end of last season, I thought it was the right time to finish"
"After coming in to Carrington for the last three or four months and still seeing people and still doing a bit of training with the reserves, I was missing it more than I thought I would."
The midfielder then admitted that he wasn’t sure how his return would impact him, but is glad that he has been able to have a positive impact on the team ever since he came back.
"I went to see the manager and said that I wanted to come back playing. I didn't know what he would say. I didn't know what his reaction would be. Thankfully, it was a positive one"
"It's nice to be back. The first two or three days took a bit of getting used to but I'm back into it now and enjoying every day."
With Scholes back in the team, United seem to be a whole lot more complete and possess more experience in their midfield then they did a couple of weeks ago.
It is now up to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson to tap the midfielder’s potential and try and get the best out of him, in order for his return to really have a positive impact on the team.
