FIFA 12 squad update brings the game up to date in terms of all the wheeling and dealing in the January Transfer window.
Halfway through the football season teams are allowed a period of just over 30 days in which they can buy and sell players to strengthen their squads or get rid of failures.
FIFA 12 though, is released well before this period and thus, after the transfer period is complete, the game still has the same squads from the beginning of the season. However, EA have always been on top of the situation and have released an update for
the rosters.
The update will see plenty of movement of players from their old clubs to their new ones, including the transfer of Gary Cahill, who is thanking his lucky stars after sealing a move to Chelsea from Bolton.
Louis Saha will also find his virtual likeness wearing a white Tottenham Hotspur shirt, Papiss Demba Cisse will be available for selection if one was to play as Newcastle United and his distant (and completely unrelated cousin) Djibril Cisse has also sealed
his virtual move to Queens Park Rangers along with Bobby Zamora.
However, there is a special treat for Manchester United fans as Paul Scholes has also returned to the game, though to be honest his statistics and attributes make him appeal more as a benchwarmer than a starter.
The former England international is rated 81 overall, with his best Physical Attributes being his Balance and Reactions, which both stand at 82 points. Apart from that the player looks rather average on the Physical Attribute side.
With Acceleration standing at 53 points and Sprint Speed at a woeful 55, he is definitely not the fastest player Manchester United has at its disposal.
Perhaps the most alarming statistic will have to be his Stamina which stands at 47 points. At the same time however, the rest of his attributes, especially tackling, passing and shooting will give him a fighting shot at making more than just an appearance
on the bench.
