Verhaegh’s previous deal with FC Augsburg was set to expire in the summer this year and there was widespread speculation about the player’s future. But the defender agreed terms to a new deal which shows that the side wants to
keep its best players for the future.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven player expressed his delight on signing the new deal and claimed that his time so thus far at the club has been fantastic and he wanted to stay. He insisted that the club has a squad that will fight till
the end and the player described the promotion to the Bundesliga last year as a huge achievement as it was the first time the club would play in the first division.
“I have experienced 18 months at FC Augsburg and so far things have been great. We won promotion to the top-flight in my first season with the club. That was a great thing to go through and was a big reason behind be agreeing to
stay,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 28-year old `insisted that the team will fight until the end to make sure they stay in the Bundesliga for another season. The full-back added that there is a lot of passion and determination in the players and remained hopeful
of a good second-half of the season.
“We will now do our best to remain in the top division at the end of this season. I am very happy to be part of what we are trying to achieve,” he concluded.
