Paul Voss joins Endura Racing from Team Milram for 2011
German rider Paul Voss has left Team Milram to join British outfit Endura Racing for the 2011 season.
In making the switch, Voss joins a UCI ProContinental team after racing for Milram on the UCI ProTour in 2010.
After having represented Milram's Continental Team between 2006 and 2009, the German was hoping to remain at a team with a ProTour licence.
But instead of renewing Voss' contract, Milram opted to let the rider go after a season in which his only victory came in the opening time-trial of the Volta a Catalunya.
"I am happy to be part of this ambitious team," the 24-year-old told radsport-news.com after the deal was announced. "I hope that I can use my ProTour experience to bring in a win or two."
In 2010, Endura's Jack Bauer won the New Zealand National Road Race and the fifth stage of the Tour of Wellington.
The team also won the Ryedale Grand Prix through Rob Partridge, while Evan Oliphant claimed first place at the Scottish Road Race Championships.
Strong racing schedule motivated Voss
Voss, who started this year's Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana for Milram, said it was Endura's calendar that enticed him into signing the deal.
"They had a very good racing calendar this year and I hope that it will get even better. The team has big ambitions, which you can see in their new signings."
Aside from Voss, Endura have contracted experienced duo Rene Mandri of Estonia and Spain's Iker Camano. The German was unable to say which events he would lead in 2011.
"I can't say anything yet about my racing schedule, but I want to, and must, use every race to present myself. I am very much looking forward to the new season and to being successful with the team."
