Paul di Resta aiming to perform well in Qualifiers of the German Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Force India-Mercedes driver Paul di Resta has said that he is aiming to perform well in the qualifiers of the upcoming German Grand Prix, which will start from Friday, July 22, 2011 in Nürburgring.
Di Resta also mentioned that after showing his strong qualifying performances in the last couple of races of the 2011 Formula 1 season, he is looking forward to get better results from the race days in the second half of the ongoing season.
The Brit was unable to score points for the team in recently held British Grand Prix following his strong qualifying round at the Silverstone race circuit. He started his race from the sixth place on the grid and ended up in the 15th spot for
the Force India team.
Di Resta’s results in Silverstone were unsatisfactory for the team, as they were expecting a decent finish from him during the Sunday’s race after a positive qualifying round.
Despite his disappointing results in Silverstone, the team driver stated that his team should remain positive for the upcoming Nürburgring race weekend.
Talking to the reporters, the 25-year-old driver said, “I think we should be quite positive going into the race. After strong qualifying performances in Valencia and Silverstone, we'll be working hard to try and get a race result that reflects our pace.”
Apart from that, di Resta added that he is sure the German drivers will get full support from the fans. In addition, he mentioned that the six German drivers will have to work hard and make a special atmosphere, which they had at the Silverstone racetrack.
On the other hand, Force India team owner Vijay Mallya talked with the media and said that his team must focus on their performances for the rest of the season at the moment.
Mallya said, “Although Silverstone became a race of unrealised potential, we can take a lot of positives from our performance. Over the last few races we have demonstrated the competitiveness of the car continues to improve and we are capable of qualifying
consistently in the top 10.”
After the British Grand Prix, Force India team is ready to perform well on the grid this weekend. Let’s see how they manage their race in Nürburgring.
