Paul di Resta aims at scoring points at every race in 2012 season – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Paul di Resta says that their goal is just to score points at every race in the forthcoming 2012 F1 season opening at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia this weekend.
Di Resta made an inspiring debut with Force India last year and repeatedly out-performed his teammate, Adrian Sutil during the first half of the season. After scoring in the first two Grands Prix while securing an amazing sixth position at British GP, di
Resta emerged as a top rookie at the end of 2011 season. However, later he proved himself as an established driver after banishing the image of a newcomer.
After an impressive maiden season, di Resta comes back to Melbourne with even more devotion and determination for the approaching season.
When he was asked whether he had any thoughts about the order of the contenders for the upcoming season, he said, “I don’t think anybody can say they know for sure. All the teams around us look strong and have been consistent in testing, so we just have
to wait and see. Also, I think almost every team will have some new parts on their cars so it really is too early to make any judgements. To begin with our goal is simply to try and pick up points at every race.”
Furthermore, he expressed his views regarding the race circuit at the season opener and said that he enjoyed driving on that circuit last year while stating that there was a good balance between low and high pace on the track.
Moreover, he said that it was an incredible blend of permanent and street circuit which makes it even more distinctive. In addition, he said that the last zone had been quite noticeable for him because it’s quite complicated and could lead to mistakes.
Nevertheless, he said that they were strong at the street circuit during the last season and they were hopeful to continue with it in the forthcoming season.
Besides, he said that they had one test less during this year’s pre-season testing programme as compared to the last pre-season. Nonetheless, he said that the testing had proved out to be good for the team in general.
