Paul di Resta aims to deliver his best in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Paul di Resta has said that his aim is to deliver his best in the 2013 Formula 1 season so as to make his way into a bigger team in the future.
Di Resta has been associated with Mercedes and McLaren for the next season. However, he missed the opportunity to secure a race seat in any of the two big teams as the Brackley based squad signed Lewis Hamilton, while the Woking based team signed Sergio
Perez for the coming year.
Although, his place in the Silverstone based team has not been confirmed yet, but he is confident about his race seat for the coming season. Furthermore, he has expressed that he is targeting to perform well for Force India in the next season and is eying
to secure a race seat in a bigger squad ahead of 2014.
“Of course it was flattering to be linked to those seats,” he told the Scotsman newspaper. “But I won't deny I was disappointed when both teams opted to go down another route.
In addition, he said that it is very important for the driver to have a competitive car on track so as to gather the necessary points to win the championship title.
“Of course you want to be in a car capable of regularly winning races and, ultimately championships,” he said.
Besides, he said that he will try his best to attain competitive results for Force India in the next year in order to come under the consideration of big teams.
In addition, he said that presently, he is only focussing to come up stronger in the coming year and is aiming to score points with better consistency for his team.
“If I do that, and it attracts a bigger team, then so be it. At the moment I'm paid to race for Sahara Force India, and I'll be giving it 100% when we line up on the grid for the season opener in Australia in March,” he added.
The 26-year-old has been deemed as one of the most talented drivers in the field and it will be exciting to see how he performs in the coming season.
