Paul di Resta feels confident for 2012 Italian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Paul di Resta has said that he is feeling confident for 2012 Italian Grand Prix as they have found the right setup for their car after the Friday practice.
Di Resta didn’t take part in the first practice session and was replaced by his team’s test driver, Jules Bianchi. Nonetheless, he showed a convincing pace in the second session and set the 7th best time ahead of his teammate, Nico Hulkenberg.
Afterwards, he expressed his delight as he felt really comfortable behind the wheel of his car and said that they are positively looking forward to attain reasonable points in the race ahead.
However, he insisted that they will try to make some more improvements in their car before the qualifying so as to secure a higher grid position for the race.
"I think it was right from off and with each run we improved quite quickly and gathered what we need to do and it proves that simulator work we did obviously helps," he said. "I missed FP1 so there are more things that I can analyse and try to be picky on
moving forward for tomorrow."
In addition, he said that they will try to come up with a setup with which they feel comfortable. He also said that it is very difficult to make some major changes ahead of the qualifying. Therefore, he said that they will only try to make the necessary
advancements in fewer areas.
"I think it's very much about how you can arrive with baseline set-up that you are comfortable with. Up until now that's something we've achieved and on whole that's not going to change tomorrow and I think there are areas we can go forward a bit," he added.
The Silverstone based team has proven itself as one of the most competent midfield contender in the current season. Although, the competition is very tough, nonetheless, their hopes are high and they are targeting to achieve a good position in this year’s
championship fight.
It will be fascinating to see how all the teams perform in the qualifying and the race at Autodromo di Monza.
