Paul di Resta hopes to perform well in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Paul di Resta has said that he is hoping to perform well in the 2013 Formula 1 season so as to make his position stronger as a race driver in the sport.
Di Resta has performed quite convincingly in this season and has attained some promising results for his team. Moreover, he has successfully secured his race seat in the Silverstone based team for the next season.
He has been considered as one of the most talented drivers in F1 and has been linked with McLaren as Lewis Hamilton’s replacement who has planned to move to Mercedes in the next season. However, the Woking based team signed an agreement with Sergio Perez
for the coming year.
It will be important to mention that Di Resta’s teammate, Nico Hulkenberg, who also performed incredibly well during this season, is going to join Sauber in the next year as Perez’s replacement.
On the other hand, the 26-year-old is looking forward to deliver his best for his team in the coming season and is targeting to improve his driving skills in order to emerge as a more competitive driver in the field.
In addition, he said that he is immensely pleased with all his team members who worked extremely hard throughout the season to develop a quicker car. Besides, he said that he has a very good relationship with everyone in his team.
“Next year is a big one for me,” di Resta told Sporting Life. “I need to do my stuff because it will be performance based. I think there'll be a few movements at the top, and hopefully I'll be a part of that. I felt ready for it this year, but for whatever
reason it didn't happen, which was not my decision. I'll just keep doing my job on track to hopefully keep my name in the frame. I've good relationships with all the teams, and with senior people, which I think you need to have.”
He also said that they have learnt a lot from their mistakes in this season which will surely help in making the essential preparations for the next year.
