Paul di Resta ignores speculation about new contract of Lewis Hamilton – Formula 1 news
Paul di Resta of Force India has his focus set towards the upcoming Italian Grand Prix and ignores the rumours about the new contract of Lewis Hamilton with Mercedes replacing Michael Schumacher.
It is also speculated that Resta will be moving to McLaren to replace Lewis Hamilton.
The Force India driver is keen about the upcoming Italian Grand Prix and ignores the speculations related to contracts of three drivers. He wants to generate impressive results at the Italian circuit.
He said, “It's speculation and it's no different to how it has been. Obviously there's been a bit of noise in the press but the focus is on this weekend.”
Resta said his focus is solely over the weekend and his team Force India. He also said that this year may witness three teams changing.
“It's a race weekend and I'm in the car tomorrow and I'm here to do a job and I've signed to do a job with Force India. That is going to be the focus. It's obviously going to be a year where possibly three teams could be changing,” he added.
Resta said that time is getting critical and he will soon be indicating where he is going. Talking about the fight he had earlier with his manager, Anthony Hamilton, he added that time has passed now and he will not be going back on what he has already said.
Furthermore, he said that there are always battles in the teams but he and his teammate Nico Hulkenberg end the race with very close margins.
Resta started the Belgian Grand Prix at the 9th grid position and managed to finish the race at the 10th position. Currently, he attains 15th position in the championship and has 28 championship points. His teammate, Hulkenberg, is two positions ahead of
Resta at 13th position with 31 championship points.
Until now, no one has said anything about the major shuffling of drivers, expected at the end of the current year, however there are a lot of chances that the upcoming year will bring a lot significant changes. Let’s see how much spice it adds to the Formula
1, if it ever happened.
