Paul di Resta looking for perfect race in Nurburgring after British Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Force India team driver, Paul di Resta, has recently stated that he is aiming to score some decent points for his team in Nürburgring this weekend following his disappointing race weekend in Silverstone.
Di Resta also mentioned that he believes the team’s VJM04 car can still produce points in the second-half of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Talking to the media, the reigning DTM champion said, "We are a midfield team and things need to run exceptionally well because you need to get that break to get into the points. For whatever reason, it has not really panned out but in terms of performance, but we can certainly be relatively happy."
He added, "It all needs to work out perfectly for it to happen for us, whereas some of the bigger teams can make a mistake and their performance gets them out of trouble. In the midfield, you need to be spot on. The good thing is that that speed has improved and our qualifying performance has been there."
Di Resta discussed with the media that he made many mistakes in the initial races of the ongoing season and that he learnt a lot from that. In the previous race weekend in Silverstone, the team driver took a positive start, as he finished his Free Practice session on a positive note among strong rivals.
The 25-year-old driver had a great time in the qualifying round 3, where he secured sixth place for Sunday’s race. The British Grand Prix was unlucky for him, as he could not show his best performance during the Silverstone race following his very strong Qualifiers.
The team driver had a fight with Virgin’s Timo Glock in the closing laps and finally ended up in the 15th spot behind Williams’ Pastor Maldonado, who finished his race at 14th place on the Silverstone racetrack.
On the other hand, Force India team principal, Vijay Mallya, has said that the team must avoid mistakes during their runs in the second-half of the season.
All 2011 Formula 1 teams have arrived at the main venue for the preparation of the German Grand Prix. Let’s see how Force India team performs in Nürburgring.
