Paul di Resta looking to impress top teams through solid results – Formula 1 news
Paul di Resta has claimed that all he can do to attract top Formula 1 teams is continue performing well with Force India.
The British driver said, “There's nothing I can do. It is what it is. I'm only trying to do what I can do. I've built my reputation in Formula 1. I want to be in a winning seat, but it's [down to] people's board's decisions.”
He added, “I've still got a lot of races with Force India this year, and when it's exciting like it was at Silverstone, I'll keep concentrating on that and let other people do the work in the background. Where I am next year I don't know, but there are many
points up for grabs. That is the important bit, keeping your reputation.”
Di Resta was unable to make a big impression during the last season, as he did not have the right car back then. However, things have moved in the positive direction for him this year, as he has been able to give a tough time to the front runners on a few
occasions whereas scoring points with consistency has not been a problem for him at all.
Last year, Force India made some progress towards the end of the season, which allowed their drivers to fight for a victory in the final race. The team continued their hard wok over the winter and developed a strong car, which has currently placed them at
fifth in the Constructor’s Championship.
Although Adrian Sutil looked to be impressive of the two Force India drivers at the start of the season, di Resta has done a fabulous job to stay ahead of him in the championship.
The talented driver has been a touch unlucky in terms of qualifying though, which has prevented him from fighting for podiums like he did during the Bahrain GP. He had qualified fifth on the grid in the British GP, but was demoted to the bottom of the table
because of carrying low fuel in his car.
Despite that, the 27-year-old driver did a terrific job in the race, finishing ninth overall. He will be hoping for some luck in Germany, where he might have a chance to score the first podium of the season.
