Paul di Resta satisfied with his performance in 2011 Formula 1 season
Force India’s Paul di Resta claims that he is satisfied with his performance after a great run at Monza this past weekend during the 2011 Italian Grand Prix.
Di Resta secured the 8th place giving the team the much-needed lead over Sauber in the constructors’ standings.
Force India are now in 6th place in the constructors’ standings and they are now a single point ahead of Sauber after this amazing run at the Italian Grand Prix.
“I think the main thing is that we came away with four points because we struggled in general with the car's performance over the weekend. You can see that our philosophy has changed, and we were benefiting in other races beforehand, at the higher downforce
tracks,” he said.
Di Resta’s teammate was unable to finish the race due to some hydraulics issue as a result of which he had to retire out of the race without securing a single point. Either way, the team achieved its goals through the young Scotsman and one has to admit
that he has proved his that he has the ability to secure good consistent results in the sport.
“Monza was difficult and we were fighting all the way. Some people didn't finish, but we also took a very aggressive strategy on the tyres, got by some people, and scoredfour points. We overtook Sauber in the constructors' championship,” said the young Force
India driver.
Either way, one has to admit that the young driver has a very bright future ahead of him as he is being managed by Lewis Hamilton’s father and is securing some pretty good results despite the fact that this is his debut season in the sport.
This was di Resta’s 4th points finish but not his best as he finished in 7th place at the Hungarian Grand Prix in order to secure a useful 6 points for his team.
He is currently in 15th place in the drivers’ standings with 12 points. He is ahead of Sergio Perez who has secured 8 points keeping in mind it is his debut season in the sport as well.
