Paul di Resta says Force India have done a good job in Spain – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Paul di Resta has said that they have done a good job in the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix as he managed to secure an impressive 7th place
finish and expressed that there is a lot more to come from their side in the season ahead.
After qualifying for 10th grid position, Di Resta showed an incredible performance in the Spanish GP and scored 6 points for his team. Furthermore, he
even challenged Nico Rosberg of Mercedes for sixth position towards the end of the race.
The British driver said that they could have scored more points in the last race if they hadn’t faced problems while testing their new parts during Friday practice.
In addition, he said that although they faced few difficulties in the preceding race, but they can use the gathered information to make valuable advancement in their car for the approaching races.
Besides, he asserted that they are pleased with their results in the previous round and are positively looking forward to perform well in the season ahead.
“Having spoken to the engineering team we can pick the positives from the race, we can go to the next one with these developments and make them better,” Di Resta
said. “It's all about points at the end of the day, we've come here and got another six which is a big result for us here in Barcelona which is a track that doesn't normally suit us.”
“But we were far from optimised this weekend with the limited running we had on Friday and then the new parts on the car, but they've done a good job, the team,”
he added.
Presently, he is standing at 8th position in the drivers’ championship with 26 points, ahead of Rosberg. Meanwhile, the Silverstone based squad are at
5th place in the constructors’ championship with 32 points. Moreover, they are ahead of their main rival, McLaren and behind Mercedes.
The competition is expected to be tougher in the forthcoming races as all the contenders are busy in making necessary step-ups in their cars. It will be thrilling
to see how Force India perform in the Monaco GP.
