Paul di Resta says he is ready to lead Force India in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Paul di Resta has said that he is ready to lead his team in 2013 and will work at his best to attain competitive results.
Di Resta’s teammate, Nico Hulkenberg is going to join Sauber in the coming year as the replacement of Sergio Perez who has signed a multi-year contract with McLaren and will drive alongside Jenson Button from the next season onwards.
On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton of the Woking based team is going to join Mercedes where he will be replacing the seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher who has planned to take retirement at the conclusion of this year.
Presently, there are many drivers who are linked with the Silverstone based team for the coming season and the list mainly include Bruno Senna, Kamui Kobayashi, Sebastian Buemi, Jules Bianchi, Jaime Alguersuari, Luiz Razia, Adrian Sutil and Charles Pic.
Nevertheless, the Briton has said that he has no issue whether his future teammate will be an experienced driver or not and insisted that his aim is to deliver his best for his team.
“To be perfectly honest, I don't mind,” he said when asked what kind of team-mate he would like. “It is not my decision and it is not something that I should be concerned about. I am employed to do a job and deliver on track. Whatever their decision will
be, will be.”
In addition, he said that he has developed himself into a better driver in the last two seasons and is looking forward to keep on improving his performance in the future.
“Either way it doesn't swing me, but as a team you want to be scoring points. It is not something that has been discussed yet, because normally it goes on a bit longer but I am happy with the position I am in at the moment,” he added.
It will be important to mention that Force India have not yet confirmed the British driver’s race seat for the next year. However, he is not concerned about it and is targeting to perform well in the final two rounds of the ongoing season.
