Paul di Resta says he want to see himself racing for Ferrari – Formula 1 News
Force India driver Paul di Resta has said that it is his utmost desire to secure a race sear at Ferrari as the Scarlet team is considered as the symbol of Formula 1.
Di Resta has performed tremendously well in the season until now. He is presently standing at 9th place in the drivers’ championship with 36 points. Moreover, he is ahead of his major rival, Jenson Button of McLaren
and behind Romain Grosjean of Lotus.
The Scottish driver has said that he is hoping to keep on performing well in the upcoming races so that he may be able to get the attention of the leading teams, especially Ferrari.
“Ferrari is an ultimate seat that I want to see myself in F1 because of the Italian side of my family,” he told Sky Sports News. “What Ferrari is to F1 is a very special red car when it sits on the grid.”
He expressed that he is trying his best to improve his pace in order to make his way into the bigger teams and will definitely work hard to avail the good opportunities.
“But I need to wait and see if the opportunities arise. At the moment it's about putting yourself in the framework for those drives,” he explained.
In addition, he said that they are immensely pleased with their performance in the season so far and are aiming to keep on making the necessary developments in their car so as to compete well with their rivals in order to maintain
their position in the constructors’ championship.
“The performance of the car throughout this [season] has excelled itself. If it can excel itself a little bit more than it has done previously I think that'll be big point at getting us in right direction,” he added.
Presently, the Silverstone based squad are standing at 5th place in the constructors’ championship with 59 points. Moreover, they are ahead of their major opponent, McLaren and behind Lotus. It will be thrilling to see
how they show up in the Hungarian Grand Prix which is to be held at the Hungaroring this weekend.
