Paul di Resta thinks McLaren will recover soon – Formula 1 News
Force India driver, Paul di Resta, has said that McLaren are a strong squad and they will recover from their problems soon to fight back in the season ahead.
The Woking based team has struggled with some huge reliability issues in the season until now because of which its drivers, Jenson Button and Sergio Perez have not been able to attain competitive points
with consistency.
At present, the British squad is standing at 6th place in the constructors’ championship with 29 points. Besides, they are ahead of Toro Rosso and behind their main rival, Force
India who have performed really well in the first five races. However, Di Resta has expressed that McLaren are making the essential improvements to make a strong come back in the upcoming races.
Moreover, the Briton admired the performance of his team and said that they are pleased to attain consistent results in the season so far. He also said that consistency has been the reason of their success
and they are hoping to keep on scoring good points in the approaching races.
“McLaren is a strong team and they will keep improving, but in the races so far we have been fighting them and we've often been quicker,” di Resta said. “Realistically, though, we are doing a great job
regularly beating our direct rivals - Sauber, Williams and Toro Rosso. Our strength has been our consistency - we have been performing well in each of the races so far, and we are now looking forward to the Sundays with confidence.”
The 27-year-old is currently standing at 8th place in the drivers’ championship with 26 points. In addition, he is behind Romain Grosjean of Lotus and is ahead of Nico Rosberg of
Mercedes. He has scored points in four out of first five races and is confidently looking forward to perform well in the season ahead.
In contrast, his teammate, Adrian Sutil has only been able to score 6 points in the season until now. But, he is eying to perform better in the forthcoming races.
“Despite everything that has happened during the last four races, I remain positive,” Sutil said.
It will be really interesting to see how the Silverstone based team performs in the Monaco GP this weekend.
