paul pierce told a spanish reporter he felt he was the best player in the nba. out of line?

paul, you are probably the dumbest player in the nba for that quote, i dont remember kobe or lebron ever stating their place in the nba, or even mj saying how great he was the best.

bottom line paul is becausethe best players dont need to state how great they are or convince anyone, because whyll you did steamroll through the shorthanded lakers in the finals, you still had kg,and ray allen, two future hall of famers. are u even the best on your team? congrats on the finals and your finals mvp but that statement is too strong and is going to come back and bite you before you know. why? two words: wheres posey?

best player in the league? your not even the best at faking injuries. ellegidly.

bottom line, there are a few players candidates for best player in the league, at the top of the list is kobe bryant who was the league mvp and did it consistently throughout the season. who didnt rise on the shoulders of his allstar teammates but carried his.

there are a list of players eligible for being dubbed the best in the game, and paul you are certainly not one of them.

Honestly the best player in the league right now is KOBE BRYANT, whether you like him or not he is the best. Paul Pierce in my opinion is not even in the top five right now. Maybe in a few more years he might be up there

well he did out-duel LeBron and Kobe in the playoffs.  I'm not saying he is the best player in the game, but look at what just happened.  It's like people saying the New York Giants are the 5th best team in the NFL when they just won the Super Bowl.  The Giants can think of themselves as the best and they just proved it.  It doesn't matter what other think.  Paul Pierce just beat LeBron and Kobe in the playoffs, it doesn't matter what people think,  he was better then the both of them head-to-head.  Let him think what he wants to.  He proved it on the court and nobody can take that away from him.

I love the Celtics.  Been my favorite team since I was 7, but no way is Paul Pierce the best player in the world.  He's very good, even great, but he's probably not even a top 10 player in the NBA right now.

When I heard his quote, I almost fall out of my seat in surprise.

Like you said, Kobe doesn't even say that he is the best. And Lebron keeps saying that Kobe's the best.

Kobe's the best player in the Nba for years, the MVP. And just because he won the finals MVP he says something like that?

Before KG and Ray allen came, Celtics were the worst team in the NBA. Before Pau Gasol came to the Lakers, Lakers were a playoff team with only Kobe Bryant.

KG turned the whole thing around in Boston, and instead of showing respect and appreciation to everyone that helped him, he turns around to say something like that.

Kobe is the MVP, while Pierce wasn't even considered for the award. KG was at least a candidate.

You win the finals MVP, maybe that means you are on the best team. Tony Parker won the MVP a couple of years back, he doesn't even say he's the best point guard.

For you Celtics fans, yeah, I'm mad that the Lakers lost. I hate the Celtics but I respect them. I still respect KG. but Pierce, for saying something like that, not anymore.
