Paula Creamer determined to end victory drough at Walmart NW Arkansas Championship 2012
American Paula Creamer, who finished tied for the 14th position at the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic 2012, looks all set to take on rivals at this week’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship 2012.
The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship 2012 is scheduled to be played from June 29 to July 1, at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, with a strong field featuring most of the top-ranked LPGA (Ladies Professional
Golf Association) contenders.
Due to a tough battle at the Manulife Financial LPGA Championship 2012, Creamer was a little under pressure, as she could not live up to her fans’ expectations. However, the American star now looks keen to
dispel concerns about her slumping performance.
Although critics appear to be putting the rising star under scrutiny, the last tournament of the current season reflects how players will fare against their rivals.
Creamer might not have finished in the top 10 at the Manulife LPGA Championship, but she displayed a far better performance than she had thought before setting foot on the course.
Analysts said that the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship is likely to stage a nerve-racking fight among big names.
With the defending champion Yani Tseng looking to record her third straight victory of the tournament, the field is awash with plenty of hot favourite contenders.
Tseng, being at the top of the list of superstars, appears to be taking her game a little more seriously now, as there have been some big shifts in the top-10 rankings.
Winless since her last victory at the US Women’s Open in July 2010 season, Creamer has vowed to do her best this season. On the other hand, golf commentators said that it will be good for the American prodigy
to tune up her game at Rogers before she participates in the second major of the season, the US Women’s Open 2012.
“I feel good with where it's going.  I'm starting to figure out some things on the golf course and making some more putts,” the 25-year-old golfer said.
“That's really what's been kind of holding me back lately is just not making enough birdies and just really getting enough out of the game.  I’ve been hitting it really close, I've been hitting a lot of greens,
giving myself opportunities”.
