Paula Creamer firm to atone for lapses at Stockton, New Jersey
Paula Creamer has been winless since her major victory at the 2010 US Women’s Open, and now with the ShopRite LPGA Classic set to begin this week, at the Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club, she has decided to atone for her lapses.
Creamer has been a prominent star on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) and her profile reflects that she is going to stay in professional golf for years to come.
The ShopRite LPGA Classic is going to feature some of the big names in women’s golf, such as the current world number one Yani Tseng, number three Suzann Pettersen and Brittany Lincicome, who won the last edition of the prestigious tournament.
Creamer, despite making a name for herself on the LPGA, is struggling to find form. She admitted in one of her interviews, a few months back, that she gradually saw a decline in her putting skills, which troubled her on the course.
The American star had been troubled due to a nagging injury a year back, which took a toll on her strength. However, she overcame all her physical problems and set foot on the course again.
She was seen playing an improved game in the current season. Creamer participated in the first major tournament of the 2012 season, Kraft Nabisco Championship, with plenty of confidence and finished tied for the 20th spot on the leaderboard.
Analysts said that despite recovering, Creamer is still struggling to regain her momentum. Staying winless for over two years has hurt her confidence a little, but the American claims to be in high spirits despite what her critics say.
They pointed out that the injury had played havoc to her putting skills, as she lost most of the games due to this problem.
Thanks to tough training and good coaching, Creamer has managed to bring her game to its old form once again.
The 25-year-old golfer will have to make all-out efforts to post a good score at New Jersey this week, as most of the contenders are used to playing at Stockton Seaview Golf Club.
In addition to top-ranked players like Tseng, the field will also feature some of the past winners of the tournament.
