Paula Creamer keen to knock Tseng off the top spot at the HSBC Women's Champions

Paula Creamer may be intimidated by Yani Tseng because of her aggressive style on the course and her number one position in the world rankings, but the American is willing to prove that she has what it takes to seize the top spot.
American Creamer has been trying to get back on the winning track and now, with a host of events slated for this season, she can make her dream come true, i.e. knocking Tseng off the top spot.
HSBC Women’s Champions, which is going to be staged at Tanah Merah Country Club, Singapore, this week, can be a springboard for Creamer if she holds her nerve and plays her best.
Despite Creamer making big plans, Yani Tseng appears to be in a far stronger position as she recently defended her title at the Honda LPGA Thailand.
Pumped up by the victory, the current world number one has vowed that she will repeat her magic form at Singapore, further strengthening her position in the world rankings.
However, Creamer can pose a serious challenge to the Thai star, given her past performance. Creamer’s career has been interesting, as she once played as one of the most underrated players on the LPGA Tour.
She rose to prominence in the 2006 season when she won the Sybase Classic by 1 stroke.
She added yet another victory to her profile in the same year at the Evian Master. She had been phenomenal as she inflicted an 8-stroke defeat on her nearest rival.
The American had been going well and enjoying golf until she suffered a debilitating nagging injury. She seemed to lose momentum after her physical problem and started losing events.
The year 2011 was the worst in Creamer’s career. She was not able to win any event, as she paid much of the attention to her injury that was thought to be stretched ligaments. She underwent surgery and spent most the time recuperating.
Currently ranked 5th, Creamer has now recovered and is rapidly regaining her strength.
She recently shard her aims while speaking to the media, saying she “wants to be the No. 1 player in the world - I've never made that a secret to anybody”.
