Paula Creamer looks to repeat 2010 performance at US Women's Open 2012
American Paula Creamer, who finished tied for the 28th position at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship 2012, looks set to take on rivals at the US Women’s Open, scheduled to start from July 5-8,
at Blackwolf Run, America.
Creamer could not do her best at the last week’s tournament played at Pinnacle Country Club, Rogers, but she appears to have made up her mind about giving a tough time to her rivals.
Although not happy with her performance in the last match, the American star will likely be among the favourite contenders for the major title.
So far in the 2012 season, Creamer has not been able record a victory, but her performance in some of the tournaments reflects that the professional golfer is keen to move ahead.
Having recorded three top-10 finishes in the season, Creamer has proved that she has what it takes to give a tough time to rivals. However, she will have face to battle-hardened LPGA stars, who are proving
their worth in recent tournaments.
The US Women’s Open is very important for the American prodigy, as she won the 2010 edition of the tournament. Thanks to rigorous training she has been having on the practice range, Creamer has fixed most
of her lapses putting and swing.
She spoke to the media during the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship 2012, saying she is pretty confident to take on rivals at the major battle, and will try to repeat her 2010 performance once again.
Creamer said that she is aware of the pressure she may face at her home course, as American spectators will like to see some good golf from national players.
However, she pointed out that the field will not be easy to beat, as it will feature the best LPGA contenders.
“I am, I'm very excited. Everybody wants to win their national championship and you're going to have the best field,” Creamer said. “I think this is a good test going into it because the field strength is
so strong. The U.S. Open, there's nothing better than that. It's what people look at, you know, majors, everybody wants to play well there”.
The 2010 US Open winner said that she desperately wants to win again at the prestigious tournament, which will require plenty of hard work and determination.
