Paula Creamer off to a good start at Evian Masters 2012
American Paula Creamer got off to sensible start at the Evian Masters 2012 as she tied for the sixth position after she registered a 68 in the first round.
Creamer, who has been struggling to end her protracted victory drought since her last triumph at the US Women’s Open in July 2010, looked in a stunning form and did what her fans expected her to do.
With the sweltering heat rattling most of the contenders in the first round of the LPGA (Ladies professional Golf Association) tournament, Creamer did not waver for a moment as she made solid putts on most
of the holes.
Although the American star could not make a fiery start as she parred the first four holes, she stunned the French spectators after she rattled off her first birdie on the par-4 5th hole. The LPGA
titan amused her fans once again when she recorded her second birdie on the par-5 7th hole.
On the back nine, she maintained her momentum and posted two birdies. She seemed to be a little shaken by searing heat on some holes on Thursday, but most of the day she looked in a great form.
Analysts said that getting off to a good start has definitely boosted Creamer’s confidence, as she has been trying to find her lost form. They said that the next rounds may get a bit more difficult for players,
but the 25-year-old American is eager to prove her worth this time.
Sharing her thoughts at the end of the day, Creamer said that she is pretty happy after making a solid start and she will try to keep her momentum going in the next three rounds.
“I played pretty solid.  Made some good putts, made a couple good up‑and‑downs.  Been kind of the difference of my round today and the past couple months.  The back is just making some putts, so it's nice,”
the start golfer said.
When asked how her fellow American Stacy Lewis, who grabbed a lead after scoring a 63, played, Creamer said that she appreciates her for making an electrifying start.
“She played awesome.  Honestly it was fun to watch.  First day and you're out there and shoots 9‑under,” she said.
