Paula Creamer ready for tough battle at Waterloo
American Paula Creamer, who finished tied for the 9th position at the Wegmans LPGA Championship 2012, has said that she is in high spirits these days and will try to do her best at the Manulife Financial
LPGA Classic 2012.
Creamer is being regarded as one of the favourite players for the Manulife LPGA Classic set to start from June 21-24, at Waterloo, Canada.
The American star, who boasts a solid profile thanks to a major victory at the 2010 US Women’s Open, has decided to improve her world ranking, and put herself in the spotlight once again.
Golf commentators said that the golfing sensation may face trouble posting a good score due to the fearsome field that also includes strong contenders such as Stacy Lewis of the United States, Lexi Thompson,
Ai Miyazato, Suzann Pettersen, Lexi Thompson, Angela Stanford, Sandra Gal, Caroline Hedwall of Sweden, Inbee Park and Aussie Katherine Hull.
No matter how tough the field may be, the 25-year-old Yank is determined to add a victory to her profile. Winless since July 2010 season — when she won her first major victory — Creamer is expected to do her
best on the course and will likely put up a tough fight to regain her lost charisma.
Commentators pointed out that Creamer has managed to dispel doubts about her performance in the last event — Wegmans LPGA Championship 2012, as she finished inside the top 10.
Speaking to the media about her renewed form, the American prodigy said that she gained enough confidence following a solid performance at the second major tournament of the current season.
She went on to say that she will enter the field at the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic 2012 with new vigour, and will try to keep the momentum going.
“I had a really good week off last week and starting to hit the ball a lot better. Being in contention is nice, haven't been there for a while, so it was good to have a couple top 10 finishes these last two
events,” Creamer shared.
“It's been incredible, all the volunteers and the fans. What a welcome to a new event. It's very special, and I think everybody should be very proud of the city of Waterloo for everybody volunteering and coming
out”.
