Benfica right-back, Maximiliano Pereira, is set to be rewarded with a new contract after intense negotiations took place to decide his future.
It was reported earlier that the defender might be sold but those rumours have been quelled with the club’s decision to offer him a new deal.
The 27-year-old has been in fine form for the Liga Sagres outfit and remains their first choice at right-back. And it looks like they will secure his services for a couple of years when he signs the new proposal to commit his future to the club.
