Paulo Thiago and Alessio Sakara medically suspended for 28 days after UFC on Fuel TV2 – UFC News
According to the recent announcement made by George Sallfeldt, president Swedish MMA Federation, Paulo Thiago and Alessio Sakara will remain outside the octagon for 28 days and will not return unless and until deemed fit by the designated physician.
The proclamation was made by George regarding the recent mixed martial art pay-per-view put forth by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The apex MMA promotion organisation organised UFC on Fuel TV and stretched its octagon in Ericsson Globe Arena situated
in Stockholm, Sweden.
The event was headlined by the non-title three-round bout between Alexander Gustafsson and Thiago Silva and the event was the second ever episode televised on Fuel TV. The event mesmerised the Swedish MMA fans and collected record $2.23 million live ticket
money.
This was the first ever show UFC has conducted in Sweden and by the success of it has opened the door to other special editions as well. George, the president Swedish MMA Federation, basically the regulator announced the medical suspensions issued to the
brawlers who took part in the UFC on Fuel TV 2.
As per the order issued, Paulo Thiago, who got brutally battered and pummelled by Afghani proud Siyar Bahadurzada, will not return to the octagon for the next 28 days. In addition, he will undergo a medical examination and will recuperate from the injuries
sustained during the bout.
The second brawler to get the medical suspension was Alessio Sakara who entered the octagon against Brian Stann and got vehemently knocked out in just the first round. Paulo was also knocked out by Siyar in the first round in fact the bout ended in the record
42 seconds of its start.
In addition to the announcements regarding the above suspensions, the Federation also resolved the disciplinary complaint against James Head. James was alleged to have exhibited unsporting actions but after careful investigation by the Federation and above
all after taking into consideration the fact that no one has lodged a complaint, George clearly commented that James will not face any kind of disciplinary action.
George remarked, “The Swedish MMA Federation has not received any complaint about unsportsmanlike conduct on the part of Mr. Head.” The order did not put forth the details of the salaries and bonuses received and won by the brawlers.
