Pauls Intentions tipped to prevail in Suffolk 545 Maiden
Pauls Intentions has been rated as the hot favourite to claim the Suffolk 545 Maiden at Mildenhall in England on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. The Grade OR winner will bag a cash prize of £100.
The stamina of all runners will be put to a test in the 545 metres race, which is scheduled to start at 20:00 GMT. Most of the runners are inexperienced at this level, which will make the situation somewhat uncertain.
However, Pauls Intentions has participated in quite a few Grade OR events and this might work in his favour at the end of the day. There is no doubt about his speed, but he needs to prove his skills in the longer distance events.
The C. Finch’s trainee made his debut in March 2011 in a GR event. He did a decent job in it, finishing runner up in the end. This was his only outing in that season, as he was rested to make a comeback next year.
The start to 2012 was quite an impressive one for the black dog, as he performed extremely well in a few trial runs. He displayed brisk speed in them and was promoted to a Grade OR event straight away.
However, things did not go well for the young hound back then and he could only manage to finish in the bottom half. He was unlucky back then, as he did not get a clear run and had to settle for fifth, despite being priced 4 to 1 by the bookies.
Mineola Farloe’s son out of Mineola Plan proved to be strong next time in this class, as he secured a career best third place that time. He was expected to do well, but his performance was still not bad and gave him a lot of confidence.
The promising runner finally brought up his maiden win in this class in May this year. He was up against some very good hounds and had to fight his way to the top. He showed good endurance back then and led right before the finish line approached.
However, Pauls Intentions failed to make an impression in his most recent race, finishing fourth in it and this has put a question mark on his consistency.
