Pay as You go Cell Phone Paris France?

I will be going to Paris and I was wonderig if anyone knew if there are pay as you go phones in France that can text internationaly to California. (I know Virgin Mobile from California can text to France on three carriers but can it text Virgin Mobile in France?) Any other information would be great to get.

Any SFR phone will send international SMS on a pre-paid card. SFR is a GSM system, so all you need is a quad-band AT&T phone and buy a SIM-card when you get to Paris.
