Question:

PayPal: status is on hold. eBay auction. scam?

I just received a payment of an item I was selling on eBay and under the status, it usually says "completed" but this time it says "on hold - ship now." Why didn't it say "completed" like the rest? I haven't done anything wrong at all when using PayPal, so I'm confused why the status is on hold.

When I click "details" it shows that the person has an "unconfirmed" shipping address and is NOT eligible under the "seller protection policy."

I'm getting a little worried. What should I do? Here is the link to the eBay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250283343897

It is unusually high. The average is about $240-$260

  1. Sometimes folks have to make a transfer or the payment needs to clear their account.  I would NOT ship before you receive payment confirmation.

I think you can ask help questions for paypal, I suggest finding that feature and using it.

Also, I'd email the buyer and tell them the paypal system is telling you their payment is on hold and you'll ship as soon as you have received confirmation that the money is in your account.

  2. no ebay is switching all payments like this over a certain price i have like 10 in my paypal so you should ship it and then send paypal the tracking once they recieved it keep your reciept from the post office and even take pictures protect yourself
