Question:

Paying Rent at 2 places...?

My boyfriend and I would like to move out of out place this month, we did not sign a lease, we have been paying from month to month. Our room mate is requesting that we pay next months rent because we did not give him 30 days, (he is not the landlord, just someone on the lease) but we have already signed a lease somewhere else. He has our last months rent from when we moved in, is there anything legal stating that he can keep that? He has to give that back right? We are not legally bound to paying the last month either right?

  1. the person on the lease is stuck with the rent. if you want to be a good sport, let him lave it to help pay the rent, unless he replaces you with more rent paying borders.

  2. not legally bound, but it would be a little fcked up if you didnt give him something, why would you not tell him
