Paying a Hospital Bill?

After my insurance was processed, I owe the Hospital 1300...but I cannot afford the entire lump sum. If I give the hospital, let's say a 100 a month, would they still take it and not be so willing to report it to the credit bureaus?

  1. I had a similar problem with a 2000 hospital bill.  I called the billing dept, set up a payment plan and they automatically deducted monthly payments.

  2. This is a very common occurrence with so many in this nation without health insurance or adequate coverage. They would almost certainly accept your payment plan....call them and ask.

  3. Yes, call the billing folks and set up a payment plan. It will only go negative if you dont pay. Dont set up auto pay. Pay yourself each month. $100 a month should be fine. Off course they will say pay more but tell them that is all you can do and mail your payment by check each month. As long as they keep accepting the payments, they cant report it negative.

  4. hopitals will help you with a payment schedule, talk to them. or you could decide to pay them in full and not be in debt as well. use your credit card or some kind of line of credit as checking account, make the payment to the hospital, deposit your income back into the loan account. easy to use and their are little risk than not paying back the hospital bill. visit u1stfinancial.com to get a better idea and let me know.

  5. Talk to the hospital's billing department right away to set up a payment plan.  Don't wait.
