Question:

Paying court fees in payments?

I got charged with "delivery of liquor to a minor" after i opened a beer and set it onthe counter in front of an underage girl during a alcohol sting. I know my fine is gonna be pretty substantial, so do you know if the court will let me make payments until i get it taken care of. I'm currently in the process of going back to school in Hilo HI. This happened on my summer break here in the chicago area. Will they do a payment plan?

Also, anyone know where i can find a list of fines for diff misdemeanors? Like i said I live in illinois and i'm curious to what its going to cost me.

  1. They usually give you all the time you need to pay and often will let you make payments.

Appear in court on the due date if you haven't paid your fine and get an extension.

  2. Yes, at least in Pennsylvania, the courts will accept payments of fines and restitution in payment.

The fines for different misdemeanors are different in the various states.
