Question:

Paying duty on Cash at the UK border

I am moving to Scotland and will have more than the allotted 10,000 euros with me (banker's draft, travellers cheques.) I know I need to declare that at the border. Will it get seized? Will I have to pay duty on it?

  1. My understanding is that you will have to pay duty on more than 10,000.  Why not leave it in an account you can access from the UK?
