Paying tattoo royalties to original artist?

is it okay for me to charge for my marker body art drawings of tattoos that i have found on the web? or do i have to pay royalties to the original artist?

  1. if the original artist has a statement asking to not use their design, or has a copyright, you should always ask for permission to use the logo. in some cases you will have to pay royalties...after all, you did not create the art, and using without permission is basically stealing. I don't think it will be quite as big of a deal in your case though since you are drawing with marker, it won't be something permanant. I don't see why someone would pay to be drawn on with marker....
