Payment with paypal..using debit card?

Question

I have just payed through pay pal for an item off ebay....however the payment has taken over a week to leave my bank account and still hasn't gone through in to the other persons account.

I know other people who have registered a debit card and have been able to pay immediately ....does anyone know why it has taken the payment so long to go through?

Any help really appreciated as I feel awful that someone is waiting for a payment.

I'm not sure why but what I can tell you is that Pay Pal is not a safe way to make a payment, I know a few people (including my sister) who have had their bank accounts debited fraudulently via pay pal. My sister also once registered her debit card to pay for an item from Ebay and they same thing happened to her, I'd stay away from the site all together if i were you.
