HI, I subscribe to several survey sites and get payouts on occasion of about 5-15 dollars. I think at most it will add up to $200 this year. Do I have to claim this on my taxes? I get the money from at least ten different survey sites...

  1. If your total income exceeds the filing requirement, then you must file tax return.

The payment from survey sites will be treated as self employed income. You must file tax return if this income exceeds $400.

  2. You have to claim all income on your income tax forms, and this is clearly income.

However, I disagree with the other posters that it's necessarily "earned income", subject to self-employment tax.  You clearly have a profit motive, but the fact that your payment doesn't depend on your actions would tend to make it unearned income.

  3. i think if you make over a certain amount you have to.
