  1. Actually, I read on the agreement page that they're entitled to 2.something% of each of your transactions. Nothing is free. I think that's pretty good. I mean, paypal is sade anyways.

  2. If you sell on eBay and use PayPal to accept payment, then it's no different than having a merchant account at a bank. Paypal does all the money work, transfering the money from the buyer to you and that takes manpower so you're paying for a service. If you don't like it, tell your buyers in an email at the end of auction that you'd like a check or money order as payment. But remember that the buyer can elect to ignore your request and pay through Paypal if the service is offered. That's because PayPal offers both buyer and seller protection. This is useful to protect against fraud by either a seller or a buyer.

  3. Paypal performed a service for you and are entitled to be paid for their services.

I have to admit that I don't care for their rates either, but it sure beats taking a chance on bounced check fees ($35.00 where I bank) or getting scammed on a money transfer.

    Hope this helps
