  1. Im so sorry this happened. Always look at the name in your email (paypal will put your name, spoofs will say dear customer) and check your paypal account.

I would call paypal, and the police. Where did you send the items? Unfortunately, you probably wont get anything

  2. If the paypal transaction was fake then you will not get your items back, unless the police are able to find them.

If you get emails from somewhere like paypal always check first before going through.

Example, i got an email a while ago saying that so & so had credited my account with $200. Now I don't know so & so, rather than clicking on the link on the email to check I typed in paypal addy & checked. Guess what, no credit!

Without a doubt if I have clicked on it my account sign-in would have been stolen.

So, never, ever, click on an email link, always type in the addy (the one you know, not the one in the email).

  3. I don't think Paypal can do anything for you.

If you sell an item to a Paypal/ebay user and he's a fraud, then Paypal will do something to protect you, the seller. Since you shipped an item before you get the money....

  4. You were scammed.

Use google to search for the address you mailed the item to.  Scammers often use private mail boxes to pick up the item and you may be able to call and have the box intercepted.  Also ask for the phone number for the local police department so you can file a complaint.

Unfortunately, the scam you describe ("paypal" has the money and "can't" release it until you prove you have shipped the item) is very common.  You failed to realize that Paypal is not an escrow service...and even if they were holding your money, you would have seen in within your account.

So, in reality, Paypal was never involved.

You *can* file a non-pay report with eBay, but chances are they scammer has moved on to new signons.
