Paypal chargeback question...?

i requested a chargeback on paypal and everything was going fine... i waited for the seller to reply within 10 days (he did not reply) and then it was going through the process where the special paypal chargeback worker was investigating this problem and it said up to 30 days... that happened about 2 or 3 days ago. then yesterday, i logged into my paypal account to check my resolution center, and it said there were no open cases... does that mean i got my money back? because i didn't recieve any emails... and i think paypal usually sends you emails when something happens

  1. Paypal is going through maintenance today. It might just be that.

  2. Was it a "chargeback" or a dispute with an Ebay seller? Even if the dispute is decided in your favor, and the case closed, you may NEVER get your money back, even when the case is considered "closed" or "resolved". It's closed or resolved as far as PayPal is concerned and they won't do anything else. I filed a dispute about a month ago on an Ebay seller that never shipped what I paid for. The dispute was resolved in my favor 10 days later, but I have yet to receive any refund -- and probably never will. The guy has ripped 12 other people off along with me and he's gone "private", so you can't even tell what the other negative reviews are for.

You'll know if and when you get any money back -- it'll show up as a balance in your PayPal account.

I actually filed an internet crime report through the FBI's website. They probably can't get anything out of this guy either, but it felt really good sending him an email telling him he'd been reported to the FBI.
