I'll explain the situation, i had bought something from eBay.

The user had listed the item wrong and proposed a partial refund of £5.00 .....

They have asked for my "paypal account"

1: Is there an actual way of doing this (of course without giving the password and everything - i'm not mad lol)

and.. 2: or could this possibly be a lie/scam somehow??

Is there a way of letting someone put money into your account without giving personal information?

I don't understand paypal so well to be honest.. please answer! Thanks.

  1. what they mean is your e-mail address, not you actual account.

  2. It only looks difficult. All you need to give is your email address, the one you used to register with eBay. They can then pay it straight into your account.

  3. "They have asked for my "paypal account""

    1. Just give them the email address registered with your payPal account dear. No sensitive information is required. ESPECIALLY do not provide your password. :-)

    2. You can send ANYONE money via payPal by going to it, selecting "send money," and entering the email address registered with payPal. Which makes you wonder how much money payPal collects via incorrect email addresses that aren't actually registered with payPal.

  4. I'd be careful-I had a refund once and wasn't asked for any details ,so don't quite get whats going on .

  5. I would contact the person ebay you were sealing with and also contact paypal . Some smalls rotten here.

  6. Just tell them the e-mail address that's linked to your Paypal account. They will go to Paypal and make a deposit to that e-mail address.

They will never see any of your personal information. That's the whole point of using Paypal.
