I got a letter from NCO Financial, (About my Paypal dept from about a half year ago) and It says that I owe my dept (275$ roughly) And I have 30 days to respond or they will get a judgement or verification and mail that to me, or I pay within 30 days. That dept happened when I sold something from ebay for a couple hundred, and the buyer complained it never reached him, but It never reached the return address (me) and so I think he has it, Paypal refunded him the money after he opened a dispute and I didnt put it proof of shipment (Tracking Number) And I am a noobie so I didnt know I could add that. Well Anyway, and I havnt payed for it cause I used a debit gift card for my ebay/paypal so they couldnt take the dept from there, and my ebay account is suspended (same thing [both ebay companies]. Anyways so I didnt pay cause I forgot, and I didnt think I should. Well anyway they are coming for me (letter) but I am 14, can they do anything? My parents say they should find a way to prevent minors from signing up anyways. So can they do anything to me since im a minor? I was wondering if they can take any legal action on minors (me) and I dont have any money, that was over half a year ago. So What can/can't they do to me? and What could happen? THANK YOU!

  1. Your age may help you in the case they can't put a lein on your home since you don't own one but in the future it may leave a blemish on your credit report which isn't good when you are looking for a job and when buying a car that you need to make payments on,

  2. The exact same thing happened to me two years ago, some guy said he never got the item I shipped him, but he admitted to me that he did on the phone. Paypal refunded his money then this NCO place started calling me. I finally told them don't contact me again and they haven't. Nothing has happened and it is not on my credit report. Tell them to kiss off, it was their decision to pay the other guy not yours.

  3. You are a minor and they cannot touch you now, but when you turn 18 your fair game again.  Also they can sue your parents if they decide to instead of coming after you.  However all this will cost them more to pursue than what you owe. So who knows what they will actually do.

  4. my question is how did you even register on ebay or paypal, you need a debit-credit card and personal info to register do you have an account with your parents or something?
