Pc to tv connection?

Question

i just bought an lcd tv. i want to connect my desktop computer to it. what kind of cable should i buy and how many metres? can you please specify? i want a simple link between my pc and lcd tv.

If you have a pc (or a labtop) with a s-video male connector on the back, then you can buy a s-video cable for around 20 bucks and connect one end to your computer and the other to your tv. The lenght of these cables is usually around 6 feet, 1.8 meters, so you need your computer to be close to your tv.

If you have an HD video card and a HD slot on the back of your computer, then you need to buy a HD connector.

you can't go simpler than a VGA blue connector link from the back of your computer, to your TV. If you want sound the best way is to get a cable which uses the same link as an MP3 player or similar. On the back of a PC, they should be green, or something with a headphone socket on it. Both ends of your link should be the same. These cables are usually labled 3.5mm jack to jack, and many major electrical stores will sell these, although i think maplin's are the best option.

If you have DVI connections on you pc then you can buy a DVI to HDMI adaptor and u will be able to use HDMI cables but u still need to get sound down to your tv, I wont recommend using S-Video because it doesn't support hi resolution. I need better information if you want proper help
