Pc will not go to "sleep" Blue Screen. I renewed my Spyware and Anitvirus on my laptop

Question

I renewed my Spyware and Anitvirus on my laptop last Tuesday, since then y laptop will not go to standby mode whenthe screen is closed. The fan will run and when the lap top is opened there is a blue screen indicating that there has been an error with a file named atidvag and that windows has been shut down.
Once the PC is started again there is an error message that Windows has recovered from a serious error.
