I'd vote for the peak district ... don't get me wrong, I love the north yorks moors, but you asked which was more scenic

I think the word "haunting" captures the N. York moors very well, plus there's Whitby which is definitely worth a visit.

Peak District? Certainly majestic. Probably more variable too.

Try both, see which you prefer.

They're both great for different things!

The peak district is full of mountains, hills, waterfalls and gorgeous parks.

The moors are almost haunting, also with hills but are kinda barren.

Both are great to see, but also so different.

I go against the other poster if you want solitude, visit the moors.

For forests, rivers and lakes, go to the Peaks.
