  1. Hmmmm, your friend cannot find a common product under the exact same name? Every store in the country stocks it under either US or Irish company names.

We also have bananas, McDonald's and other weird and exotic items! We even got Coca Cola once

We do not however, have Asda or Sainsbury stores and peanuts and peanut butter are not originally from the US

  2. it is so easy to make, why bother searching all over hill and dell?  just put a bunch of roasted peanuts in the blender, a pinch of olive oil and viola!!

  3. I am surprised to hear this. I moved from Australia to France.

Now the French don't eat peanut butter but I can still find them here.

However French made peanut butter tastes like s*** . They have imported ones from the U.S. but cost a fortune.

Later I found them in Asian grocery stores here.

Not only they are cheap but they taste great, the peanut butter I eat here comes from Malaysia, yes a country who eats peanut butter knows how to make tasty peanut butter!

According to this website Irish do eat peanut butter!

    http://www.chivers.ie/brands/sunpat.asp

    The brand is Sun-pat!

  4. Peanut O'Butter

  5. Yes, it's here!

You can get Panda brand in Tesco - smooth or crunchy!

  6. Sh might just have to check out the supermarkets or ask around.

You can find quite a few American products in Europe these days.

Definitely found Peanut Butter in Germany while we were stationed there - but generally I don't think it is very popular.

She should try Nutella (chocolate spread) that's much tastier;-).

  7. Yup, we definitely have peanut butter in Ireland and the UK, and we call it peanut butter... you can buy it in any food shop!

  8. its called peanut butter, u get it in the supermarkets. try sainsbury's tesco or asda. if you cant find it in store order it online.

  9. Um... we have Peanut Butter in England. It's called Peanut Butter... try Tesco.

  10. In the US the common peanut butter is Skippy isn't it. Well in the UK and Ireland it's SUNPAT. But we have all different brands including organic and whole peanut YUM. I would suggest you look on the supermarket shelves where the Jam, Honey and Marmalade are and Peanut butter should be there. If you are in a tiny shop in the back of beyond perhaps you wont find it but any regular town should at least have a jar on the shelf.

  11. from what i've heard, peanut butter is very scarce in the UK in general. peanuts are a large crop in the US which is probably why we are so into peanut butter. i don't know if they are not into it or what, or if it's just an american thing. also, it's hard to find ranch dressing if at all over there.
